Join the Sapphic Journeys Travel Community – A Place to Belong, Connect and Explore Together with Purpose

Travel has always been about more than simply visiting new places. For me, travel has changed my life. It has introduced me to incredible people, unforgettable places and reminded me that, no matter where we come from, we all deserve to feel that we belong. Every journey is an opportunity to discover new cultures, create lasting memories and experience those special moments that stay with us long after we've returned home.

As a mature LGBTQIA+ woman, I've also learned that travelling isn't always as straightforward as it should be. Questions that many people never have to think about often cross our minds before booking a trip: Will I feel welcome? Will I be safe?

Will I meet people like me? Will I feel comfortable being my authentic self?

These are questions many of us have asked ourselves at one time or another.

That's exactly why I created Sapphic Journeys.

Not simply as another travel website, but as the beginning of a community where mature LGBTQIA+ women can inspire one another, share experiences, discover welcoming destinations and build genuine connections through a shared love of travel.


More Than Just a Travel Website

Sapphic Journeys is still in its early days, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of.

Every great community starts with a single idea, and mine is simple:

To create a welcoming space where mature LGBTQIA+ women can find travel inspiration, celebrate our shared experiences and remind one another that the world is full of places where we truly belong.

Whether you're travelling solo, planning an adventure with your partner or simply dreaming about your next destination, I hope Sapphic Journeys becomes somewhere you return to for inspiration, encouragement and connection.

My Vision for the Community

As Sapphic Journeys continues to grow, my dream is to create much more than a collection of travel articles.

I hope to build a community where women can:

🌍 Discover LGBTQIA+-friendly destinations.

💜 Share honest travel experiences and recommendations.

✈️ Find inspiration for future adventures.

🤝 Meet like-minded women who share a passion for travel.

🌈 Celebrate Pride festivals, cultural events and unique experiences around the world.

❤️ Support one another, whether travelling solo or with a partner.

Every conversation, every shared story and every recommendation has the power to help another woman travel with greater confidence.

Travelling with Confidence

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to create Sapphic Journeys was because I know how reassuring it can be to hear from someone who's already been there.

Sometimes it's the smallest pieces of advice that make the biggest difference.

Perhaps it's discovering a welcoming hotel where you can completely relax.

Maybe it's finding a cosy café that's popular with the local LGBTQIA+ community.

Or perhaps it's learning about a Pride event you never knew existed.

Those personal experiences often tell us far more than any travel brochure ever could.

Over time, I hope our community becomes a trusted place where women can exchange those stories and help one another travel with confidence.


Building Friendships Along the Way

One of the most wonderful things about travelling is the people we meet.

Some friendships last for a single afternoon.

Others last a lifetime.

I hope that Sapphic Journeys becomes a place where meaningful connections begin long before anyone packs a suitcase.

Whether it's through conversations on the website, our growing Facebook community, future events, or simply sharing travel experiences, I want every member to feel that they're part of something bigger than themselves.

Because no one should ever feel they have to explore the world alone.


Celebrating Every Journey

Not every adventure needs to involve crossing continents.

Sometimes discovering a beautiful seaside town, attending a local Pride celebration or taking a weekend break can be just as meaningful as travelling halfway around the world.

At Sapphic Journeys, I believe every journey matters.

Whether you're taking your very first solo trip, celebrating a special anniversary with your partner or finally ticking a dream destination off your bucket list, your story deserves to be celebrated.


Looking Towards the Future

Although Sapphic Journeys is only just beginning, I have big dreams for what it can become.

In the future, I'd love to introduce even more opportunities for our community to connect, including destination guides, member travel stories, community events, travel meet-ups and carefully curated experiences designed with mature LGBTQIA+ women in mind. Every new idea begins with a conversation, and every community grows one member at a time.

I'm excited to see where this journey leads.

Why I Believe Community Matters

For many people, travel is simply about seeing new places.

For me, it's about something much deeper.

It's about feeling accepted.

Feeling safe.

Feeling understood.

It's about laughing over dinner with people you've only just met.

Watching the sunset with someone who completely understands your story.

Discovering that the world is much kinder and more welcoming than you ever imagined.

Those are the moments that stay with us forever.

And those are the moments I hope Sapphic Journeys will help create.
