The iconic canal boat parade and a full week of celebrations make Amsterdam Pride one of the world's most spectacular LGBTQ+ events. The Canal Parade — where decorated boats carry community groups and organisations through the UNESCO-listed canals — is completely unique and utterly unforgettable.
What to look forward to
1. Canal Parade on 2 August — the highlight of the entire week, best viewed from a canal-side spot from early morning. 2. Roze Zaterdag (Pink Saturday) street party across the city. 3. Open air concerts and stages in Museumplein and Vondelpark. 4. Club nights and parties throughout the week across Amsterdam's venues. 5. Community events, exhibitions, and talks at venues across the city.
Everything you need to know
The city is extremely busy during Pride Week — book accommodation 6+ months ahead. An OV-chipkaart covers all trams, metro, and buses. Cycling is the best way to navigate the city — hire a bike on arrival. The Canal Parade viewing spots fill up very early on the day; arrive by 9am for a good position. Many events are free; ticketed parties sell out fast.
